A film by Edvard Stokstad and pavleheidler, 2021
YOU is a work of fiction. It is, following Jeanette Winterson, our attempt to tell the story we can live with, to tell the story a person could live with; it is an expression of a desire to survive. YOU is an answer at least as much as it is a question, it is an observation at least as much as it is a speculation. YOU is an ode to contradiction, to inconsistency. It is a cry at least as much as it is a giggle. It is a celebration of partial perspective, an acknowledgement of the fact that in life there is more feeling, more sensation, more thought than there is time to process them. YOU is an attempt to visualise gravitational waves by discovering what was important, when it was important, relative to however many times it was important. It is an acknowledgement of what was forgotten at least as much as it is an acknowledgement of what is remembered. YOU exists because of filming at least as much as it exists because of dancing. YOU exists because conversing at least as much as in its becoming YOU becomes a conversation.
