Witnessed in Translation is a project designed by Mary Pearson with collaborators Carolina van Eps, Michael Kaddu, pavleheidler and Elvan Tekkin. Together they have been developing techniques which evolved during lockdown to transmit physical, sensory and relational experiences through screens.
Watch online or attend an intimate in-person screening, in which the artists' live streams will be intertwined and live-mixed by George Maund. Weaving their dance improvisations with stories reflecting multiple experiences of cultural displacement, the artists ask us to consider which part of our identities we want to share and how does our own self-perception change with regard to who is seeing us?
A post-performance discussion, facilitated by Aleasha Chaunte and Ava Riby-Willliams, will offer an opportunity to consider livestream as an emergent artform.
Performances will take place across four dates. Book your ticket via Eventbrite to attend in-person or register your interest to receive a link to view online.
